The number one New Year’s resolution for a overwhelming majority is …..”ta da” …. “to lose weight and get healthy & fit“. According to research and surveys this has been the “number one resolution” for most people over the past 12 years! Numbers two & three on the list are no big surprises either. They are “to save more money” and “to save more time”. These two swap positions periodically over the years; but these three are a safe bet for the top three positions ….year-in & year-out. The most important question is …“Why are these the top 3 EVERY YEAR?‘ I believe that I may have an answer …. and a possible solution.

Please don’t worry if you ate too much (I did!); the most important thing is spending quality time with your family and friends. About this time last year I posted an article that touched on the subject of workouts for women & over-eating on the Holidays. The main point of that article was that over-eating on the Holidays (Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day) is Not going to make a bit of difference in your your fitness level; it is what you do eating & exercise wise for all the other days of the year that truly counts. You may have a “bloated” feeling after over-indulging on the fine fixings. That is nothing that a little “Pepto”, ”Alka-Seltzer”, and time can not take care of.

I’m guilty and I admit ….I love to watch television. Unfortunately, with my busy schedule I am not able to watch as much as I would like. College & Pro football games, ESPN, The History Channel and The NFL Channel are some of my favorites . I do love to watch the “Andy Griffith” show every day @ 5:30. It really doesn’t matter that I’ve seen all the episodes hundreds of times (and that I also have every episode of every season in a box set of DVDs).
